Report: Wrigley Field Offer Rejected

The Chicago Sun-Times is reporting this morning that the Tribune Company has rejected a plan to sell Wrigley Field to a state agency. The Illinois Sports Facilities Authority, chaired by former Governor James Thompson, has been aiming to buy Wrigley Field and renovate it without using tax dollars.

But the Sun-Times is reporting the proposal didn't sit well with new Tribune boss Sam Zell.

Governor Thompson tells the paper he won't comment until he gets official word from the Tribune Company.
